Joveena and Jinson

My husband and I attended the family retreats in December 2021 and January 2022. We prayed for the gift of a child. We had no children for ten years. During the retreat, it was announced that God was touching the barren wombs and I conceived in the following days. On January 15th, 2022, my doctor confirmed that I was pregnant and on September 27th, 2022 I gave birth to a healthy baby boy without any complications throughout the pregnancy. We thank the Lord for answering our prayers. Thank you Lord for blessing us abundantly.

My father, Joshua was diagnosed with stage 4b cancer which started in his lungs where it spread all over his body including his brain and left leg. This cancer does not have a cure; the medications were only meant to stop the cancer from spreading in the best case scenario. Miraculously, the tumour in the primary location (the lung) has disappeared after a while. Similarly, the tumour in his brain was gone and most importantly Joshua and his family have come closer to God now more than ever.

I had no work experience and I came to the Divine Retreat Centre for over a year praying for a job as I was graduating from my undergraduate program. The Lord Blessed me with a job at one of the world’s top firms in the IT industry – and on top of that, even before graduating! Thank you Lord; I have no doubt that He was and is by my side, and will continue to provide.

In 2018, my son went to a soccer tournament in Kingston, ON. At around 11 am, I got a call from my husband telling me that the soccer ball hit our son’s left eye, and his eyesight was gone. I was in shock, I thought that only God can help our son. By 3 pm, my husband called from the hospital and said that he is healed, his eyesight came back and that they were coming home. His recovery was so quick, his team was so surprised. We are so grateful for his fast recovery. Love you Jesus and I trust in you fully.

Before coming to the Divine Retreat Centre Toronto for a retreat, I had anxiety and chest pain as I was going through a difficult time in my life. Due to this I couldn’t perform well at work and felt hopeless. During the retreat, I had surrendered myself and this difficult situation to the Lord and was able to make a good confession. I am healed from anxiety and this feeling of hopelessness after this retreat. Praise the Lord.

I have had a sleep disorder for a long time. On the second day of a retreat, the priest mentioned that eight people were healed from sleep problems. I found that I have been sleeping well now ever since. Praise and thank you Jesus.

My eldest daughter Amanda Barreto has been married for five years. They were without a child for that long. While attending the Friday prayer services, on numerous occasions, there have been messages of couples being blessed with the gift of a child. Though I have claimed the blessing of a child for my daughter every time, they were still without a child. Finally, on Oct. 29, 2021 at the Friday service, it was announced that seven couples were blessed with a child for Christmas. Four weeks later, Amanda did confirm being pregnant. I thank and Praise the Lord Jesus for this Blessing.

My wife and I attended a healing retreat in December 2021 and we prayed for our son who finally agreed to marriage after many years to find a wife. Within three months, he met a woman and marriage arrangements were made. Thank the Lord for this grace.

After three years of marriage, we still had no children. I was asked to pray Psalms 127: 1-3 and Philippians 4:13. I started to pray, but every day that went by, I was losing hope and eventually I stopped. Moreover, after some time, my wife had a miscarriage. Again, I was given three bible verses to pray – Philippians 4:19, Ephesians 3: 16-17, Isaiah 66:9. This time I started praying fervently – with patience and with faith in God. After a while, my wife got pregnant again but this time, the doctors detected some issues with the baby and suspected Down’s syndrome but we prayed to God that the baby be healthy. Praise be to God! When the test results came next, everything was fine and the baby was healthy. Thank you Jesus! Praise the Lord!
